What Can Be Done About My Spider Veins?

In contrast to varicose veins, which may lead to discomfort, swelling, or other health concerns, spider veins are primarily a cosmetic issue. That said, their appearance can still cause distress or self-consciousness for many patients.

At Vanish Advanced Vein Treatments, we understand the impact even minor issues like spider veins can have on confidence and peace of mind. That’s why we’ve invested in the most advanced, minimally invasive treatments designed to address spider veins with precision and care.

Our procedures are not only effective, but also low in pain, ensuring a quick recovery and allowing patients to enjoy smoother, blemish-free skin without disruption to their daily lives. That said, as these are mainly cosmetic procedures, they are unlikely to be covered by insurance.

Here are some before and after images and a summary of the options available to patients seeking treatment for their spider veins.

Injection Sclerotherapy

This treatment is ideal for spider veins, telangiectasias, and small reticular veins that are noticeable but symptom-free.

Using FDA-approved polidocanol or sotradecol, injected as a liquid or foam, this procedure collapses a spider vein and, over time, makes it no longer visible.

The procedure is quick — usually under 30 minutes — and requires no anesthesia. Best of all, most patients notice results after 2–3 treatments.

Considerations for Spider Veins

Veins on the face, rosacea and other vascular lesions like cherry hemangiomas and port wine stains are easily eliminated with laser treatment.

Some patient see excellent results in just one session but, on average, requires two to three sessions for best results.

Asclera®

Asclera® (polidocanol injection) is an FDA-approved prescription medication indicated for the treatment of small varicose veins, including spider veins. Treatments with Asclera typically take between 15 and 45 minutes and are administered using a very fine needle, which may cause mild discomfort or a slight stinging sensation.

Following treatment, patients are advised to walk for 20 to 30 minutes to promote healthy circulation. The use of compression stockings is recommended continuously for at least 7 days post-procedure. Continued daily use beyond this initial period may further support optimal results, as advised by your healthcare provider.
